Izo

The Izo character card, indexed as OP03-003, was released as part of the 'Pillars of Strength' expansion for the One Piece Card Game in early 2023. As a character card featuring the former Whitebeard Pirates commander, it serves as a functional piece within the Red deck archetype, reflecting the character's loyalty to the Whitebeard crew. The artwork captures Izo in his traditional Wano-inspired attire, emphasizing the visual aesthetic of the character during the Marineford and Wano arcs of the source material.

The design of the card emphasizes competitive play, utilizing the game's cost-based mechanics to allow players to search for specific characters from the Whitebeard Pirates pool. The illustration follows the established art direction of the One Piece Card Game, which typically commissions various artists to adapt iconic manga panels or character poses into the TCG format. While not a high-rarity chase card, it is valued by players for its consistency and strategic utility in maintaining board presence within Red-based strategies.
