Jozu

Jozu, the Third Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, appears as a character card in the One Piece Card Game within the -Red Edward.Newgate- [ST-15] starter deck. The card itself, numbered OP02-008, was originally introduced in the second main expansion set, Paramount War, which drew its thematic inspiration from the pivotal Marineford arc of the One Piece manga and anime. This set was designed to emphasize the high-stakes naval conflict between the Whitebeard Pirates and the World Government, focusing on the tactical synergy of red-colored decks that prioritize aggressive offense and life-point management.

The artwork for this card depicts Jozu in his Diamond-Fruit transformed state, capturing his durability and role as a defensive powerhouse during the war. Like many cards in the early sets of the game, the design aesthetic utilizes dynamic, high-contrast digital illustrations that reflect the source material's intensity. While the card is a standard inclusion in the starter deck lineup, it has been recognized by players for its thematic consistency, representing Jozu's ability to withstand significant damage while supporting the leader-focused strategies central to the Edward Newgate playstyle.
