Provenance

Where it came from

The Jozu card, numbered OP02-008, was released as part of the Paramount War expansion for the One Piece Card Game in late 2022. This set specifically draws inspiration from the Marineford arc of the series, a pivotal storyline where Jozu, a commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, plays a crucial role in defending against the combined forces of the Navy and the Warlords of the Sea.

The card features artwork consistent with the game’s aesthetic, which utilizes character designs from Eiichiro Oda's manga. As a card within the 'Paramount War' collection, it was designed to emphasize Jozu’s defensive capabilities, represented by his diamond-themed abilities. The set was generally well-received by players for its thematic faithfulness to the source material and its impact on the game's competitive meta at the time of its release.
