Where it came from
The Kawamatsu card from the Legacy of the Master set (OP12-023) is a character card drawn from the One Piece Card Game, a strategic trading card game based on the long-running manga series by Eiichiro Oda. The set was designed to spotlight key narrative arcs and pivotal figures from the Wano Country storyline, emphasizing characters who played essential roles in the rebellion against the Beast Pirates.
The design of this card highlights Kawamatsu the Kappa, a legendary samurai of the Akazaya Nine. The illustration captures his distinct silhouette and martial prowess, aiming to reflect his stoic dedication to the Kozuki clan. Within the game's mechanics, the card is recognized for its utility in defensive strategies, and it was generally well-received by players for its thematic accuracy and integration into Wano-focused deck builds.
