Provenance

Where it came from

Little Oars Jr. (OP02-020) was introduced as part of the Paramount War expansion set for the One Piece Card Game, released in 2022. This set specifically draws from the Marineford arc of the series, a pivotal storyline centered on the rescue mission to save Portgas D. Ace. The card depicts the hulking figure of Oars Jr., the descendant of the legendary 'Continent-Puller', who plays a significant role in the battlefield chaos as he charges toward the execution platform.

The card was designed to reflect the character's immense physical presence and his self-sacrificial nature within the source material. Illustrators for the One Piece Card Game prioritize capturing the dynamic scale of characters like Oars Jr. through bold compositions, often emphasizing his size relative to the rest of the battlefield. Upon release, the card was received as a solid addition to Green-color deck strategies, valued for its high power and utility in dominating the field presence during mid-to-late game stages.
