Where it came from
Magura (OP02-016) was released as part of the Paramount War expansion for the One Piece Card Game, which debuted in late 2022. This set was designed to capture the intensity of the Marineford Arc, a pivotal storyline in the source material where numerous factions clash. The pre-release versions of these cards were distributed during organized play events, serving as promotional items that introduced players to the new mechanics and character rosters arriving in the second major set of the game.
The card features artwork consistent with the aesthetic of the One Piece Card Game, which prioritizes clean lines and dynamic poses to reflect the high-stakes combat of the series. Magura, a character known for his role within the Dadan Family, is depicted with an emphasis on his specific design traits from the anime. While this card is primarily a functional piece for deck-building within the game's evolving meta, it remains a notable inclusion for collectors focusing on the early, formative stages of the English and Japanese TCG releases.
