Where it came from
The Never Existed... in the First Place... event card was released as part of the Carrying On His Will set, commemorating the third anniversary of the One Piece Card Game tournament circuit. This set was designed to honor pivotal narrative moments and emotional climaxes from the series, with this specific card reflecting the complex, often tragic nature of memory and identity within the franchise's overarching lore.
The card features artwork commissioned to capture a sense of transient, melancholic atmosphere, utilizing a minimalist aesthetic that distinguishes it from the more action-oriented designs common in the competitive card pool. Its reception among collectors has been defined by its thematic depth, as players and enthusiasts alike noted that the design choice serves as a poignant meta-commentary on the nature of the series' secrets and lost histories.
