Nero

Released in early 2023 as part of the Pillars of Strength set for the One Piece Card Game, this character card features Nero, a member of CP9 introduced during the Enies Lobby arc. The card was designed to integrate into the game's mechanics as a representation of his role as an agent of the World Government, emphasizing the tactical depth required to pilot a CP9-themed deck. Like many cards in the early English and Japanese releases of the trading card game, it serves to flesh out the diverse cast of Eiichiro Oda's long-running manga series.

The artwork captures Nero’s signature appearance, reflecting the aesthetic sensibilities of the One Piece illustration team tasked with translating anime-style characters into a functional card game format. By focusing on his cold, professional demeanor, the illustration aims to align with his canonical portrayal as a ruthless assassin. Since its introduction, the card has been recognized by players as a practical, low-cost utility piece that benefits from the specific synergies found within the set's unique color identity.
