Nico Robin

The Nico Robin card (ST21-010) was released as part of the Starter Deck -GEAR5- [ST-21] for the One Piece Card Game, a tactical trading card game based on the long-running manga and anime series created by Eiichiro Oda. The deck was designed to coincide with the thematic focus on the climactic 'Gear 5' narrative arc, featuring key members of the Straw Hat Crew as they confront major antagonists in the Wano Country and Egghead story segments. This specific card serves as a character unit within the game's evolving mechanical framework, which emphasizes synergies between specific character traits and color-coded playstyles.

The illustration maintains the visual consistency established by the game’s collaborative design team, who work to mirror the distinct aesthetic of the One Piece series. The design choice for this card highlights Robin's analytical and supportive nature, common to her character portrayals in the series. Within the competitive community, the ST-21 set was noted for its focus on providing accessible entry points for new players while updating existing archetypes to include the high-energy, transformative powers featured in the current meta of the card game.
