Penta-Chromatic String

The Penta-Chromatic String, card OP14-077, was released as part of the 'Azure Sea's Seven' expansion, a set conceptualized by the game developers to introduce a mechanics-heavy nautical theme. It was designed during a period of transition for the game's art direction, shifting from traditional ink-and-wash styles toward the vibrant, high-saturation color palettes that characterized mid-era releases. The card depicts a metaphysical nautical instrument, intended to represent the fluid nature of the sea, with illustrations executed by the studio's primary team to maintain stylistic consistency across the set.

Upon its introduction, the card was received as a niche utility item, valued primarily for its versatility in specific event-based strategies. While it was not among the most powerful cards in the set, its distinctive visual design garnered interest among collectors who prioritized the cohesive aesthetic of the Azure Sea collection. It remains a recognizable piece of the expansion, representing the intersection of experimental game mechanics and the stylistic shift favored by the design team at the time.
