Where it came from
The Tashigi card from the Legacy of the Master set, numbered OP12-031, represents a specific entry in the long-running One Piece Card Game. This trading card game was launched by Bandai in 2022 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the franchise, drawing inspiration from the art styles and narrative beats established in Eiichiro Oda’s manga. The card features Tashigi, a prominent marine officer known for her swordsmanship and moral ambiguity, rendered in an alternate art style that emphasizes a more stylized or dramatic visual composition compared to the base card variants.
The design of alternate art cards in this series is intended to appeal to collectors and competitive players who value aesthetic variety and unique character portrayals. These cards are distributed within booster sets as rare chase items, meant to serve as both functional pieces for deck building and as objects of visual interest. The design approach typically focuses on dynamic angles and high-contrast color palettes that depart from standard character depictions to provide a more premium feel within the set’s broader artistic framework.
