Where it came from
The Tashigi (OP06-050) card was released in 2024 as part of the Wings of the Captain expansion for the One Piece Card Game. This set focuses heavily on thematic archetypes from the series, with Tashigi appearing as a character card designed to support blue-aligned strategies involving the Navy. The card highlights her role as a skilled swordsman within the organization, reflecting the game's intent to bridge narrative character arcs with specific mechanical utility.
The alternate art version of this card features a stylized illustration that departs from the standard action-oriented aesthetic of the base set. By prioritizing a more character-focused portrait, the design highlights the aesthetic influence of the One Piece anime's artistic direction, appealing to collectors who value the integration of distinct visual styles within the Trading Card Game format. Upon its release, it became a notable pursuit for players looking to elevate the visual cohesion of their Navy-themed decks.
