Provenance

Where it came from

The Three Sword Style Oni Giri event card was released as part of the Paramount War expansion for the One Piece Card Game, which debuted in late 2022. This set specifically focuses on the iconic Marineford arc of the series, reflecting the intense conflicts and key character moments associated with the Paramount War. As a staple event card for Blue-aligned decks, it serves to represent Roronoa Zoro's signature technique, strategically allowing players to return an opponent's character to their hand.

The design of the card features dynamic, high-action artwork capturing Zoro mid-strike, consistent with the visual language established by Bandai for the game's release. The composition leans into the kinetic energy of the source material, using bold colors and illustrative styles that pay homage to Eiichiro Oda's original manga aesthetic. It was received as a functional and essential utility card within the competitive meta, valued by players for its efficiency and thematic connection to the series' most recognizable combat maneuvers.
