Where it came from
The Yamato character card (EB05-046) was released as part of the One Piece Card Game's Extra Booster: Memorial Collection (EB-01), which launched in early 2024. Designed to celebrate iconic female characters from the series, this specific card features an alternate illustration that showcases Yamato's distinctive aesthetic and role within the Wano Country arc. The card's design emphasizes the character's powerful presence and the high-fantasy visual style that has defined the aesthetic direction of the One Piece Card Game since its 2022 inception.
As a Super Rare (SR) alternate art entry, this card was developed to appeal to both competitive players and collectors who value premium artistic treatments of major narrative figures. The illustration process for these booster sets typically involves collaborations with various manga-inspired artists tasked with reinterpreting characters through dynamic, high-contrast compositions. Upon release, the card was received as a centerpiece for the Heroines expansion, noted for its aesthetic appeal and its status as a sought-after collector's piece within the broader One Piece trading card ecosystem.
