Where it came from
The Yamato (OP06-022) leader card was released as part of the One Piece Card Game's Extra Booster: Anime 25th Collection in 2023. This set was designed specifically to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the One Piece anime, featuring iconic characters rendered in special artistic styles that distinguish them from standard booster set releases. The SP, or special parallel variant, is highly sought after by collectors for its unique foil treatment and exclusive illustration that captures the character's fierce spirit from the Wano Country arc.
The illustration for this card reflects the aesthetic direction of the 25th-anniversary collection, which emphasizes high-contrast character art and premium visual depth. Yamato, a pivotal character in the series, is portrayed here to highlight her combat prowess and her role as a leader-type card within the game's mechanics. Upon release, the card was well-received by the competitive community for its utility in gameplay and by collectors for its rarity, cementing it as a standout piece within the specific context of the commemorative set.
