Where it came from
Skiploom 2/124 was released in 2012 as part of the Dragons Exalted expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. This set was notable for its focus on Dragon-type Pokémon, which were introduced as a new card type during the Black & White series. The inclusion of Grass-type Pokémon like Skiploom served to round out the set's elemental variety while maintaining the evolving chain established in earlier generations.
The card features illustration by artist Mizue, who has contributed numerous designs to the Pokémon TCG. In this piece, Skiploom is depicted in a soft, bright style consistent with the aesthetic of the Black & White era. As an uncommon card, it was designed primarily for player utility and deck building, reflecting the standard competitive landscape of the time rather than the rarity-focused prestige of holographic chase cards.
