Where it came from
The 2015 McDonald's Pokémon collection was released as a promotional tie-in during the long-running partnership between The Pokémon Company and the fast-food chain. These cards were distributed alongside Happy Meals, serving as a regional marketing tool designed to introduce younger audiences to the Pokémon Trading Card Game through simplified, accessible gameplay and artwork.
The card featuring Skitty, numbered 12/12 in the set, utilizes the standard colorless typing associated with the feline-inspired Pokémon. The illustration draws from the established character design consistent with the XY era of the franchise. Because these cards were produced in high volumes for mass distribution rather than as part of a competitive expansion, they are largely regarded by collectors as entry-level items notable primarily for their availability and role in promotional history.
