Blues was released in 2021 on the Black Studies label as the second installment in a trilogy of albums by the Sierra Leonean producer and artist Lamin Fofana. The record emerged from Fofana’s ongoing exploration of the intersection between electronic soundscapes, history, and the lived experience of the Black diaspora, functioning as an immersive, conceptual inquiry into the socio-political implications of the titular genre and its broader cultural resonance.
