Chant Grégorien − Épiphanie - Dédicace

This recording features the Chœur des Moines de l'Abbaye Saint-Pierre de Solesmes, conducted by Dom Joseph Gajard, and represents a definitive effort to document the authentic performance of Gregorian chant. Produced in the mid-20th century under the Decca label, the album serves as a liturgical archival work, capturing the monophonic melodies that were the cornerstone of the Abbey's long-standing tradition of liturgical music scholarship.

The musical direction of Dom Joseph Gajard was instrumental in shaping the modern interpretation of the Solesmes method, which emphasizes the nuanced, rhythmic flow of chant based on the paleography of medieval manuscripts. The recording was designed to preserve the ethereal, meditative quality of the monks' performance for a global audience, receiving widespread acclaim from both liturgical musicologists and classical enthusiasts for its technical clarity and spiritual gravitas.
