Der Zeit Die Zähne Zeigen

Der Zeit Die Zähne Zeigen was released in 1986 on the independent West German label pläne. The album emerged from the highly politicized folk and singer-songwriter scene in Germany during the 1980s, a period marked by active engagement in the anti-nuclear movement and debates over the socio-political climate of the Cold War. As a release under the pläne label, which was known for championing socio-critical music and 'Lieder der Welt,' the record reflects the intellectual and protest-driven ethos of the era.

Jürgen Eger utilized the medium of the singer-songwriter tradition to articulate his critique of contemporary society, with the title serving as a metaphorical call to confront the challenges of the times. The design and presentation are characteristic of the pläne label's understated, text-heavy aesthetic, which prioritized the lyrical content and ideological messaging of the artist over commercial polish. While it reached a niche audience deeply embedded in the German protest music circuit, it remains a documented artifact of the label's contribution to political folk music in the mid-1980s.
