Dworzec Towarowy, an audio expedition by Werner Urban

Dworzec Towarowy, the debut release on the Abandoned label, emerged in 2017 as a deliberate exploration of industrial atmosphere. Werner Urban crafted this audio expedition to document the sonic landscape of a freight station, utilizing field recordings to bridge the gap between ambient composition and concrete sound art. The project reflects the label's focus on capturing the decaying or overlooked environments of urban decay through a minimalist, documentary lens.

The production process relied heavily on high-fidelity capturing of mechanical and structural resonances, processed to evoke the solitude of empty transit hubs. Design-wise, the record adheres to an austere aesthetic that mirrors the desolate subject matter of the recordings. Upon its release, the project garnered attention within niche experimental music circles for its uncompromising commitment to site-specific soundscapes and its departure from traditional musical structures.
