Gling-Gló

Originally recorded in 1990 and first released on the Smekkleysa label, Gling-Gló captures a unique moment in Björk's early career before her international solo breakthrough. Working with the Guðmundur Ingólfsson Trio, Björk shifted away from the post-punk sensibilities of The Sugarcubes to explore a collection of jazz standards, original compositions in Icelandic, and pop interpretations. The 2008 One Little Indian reissue, catalog number TPLP61DMM, was pressed to satisfy a renewed global interest in Björk's discography, preserving the intimate, unadorned production style that defines the session.

The album's aesthetic is characterized by its lighthearted and improvisational spirit, reflecting the trio's deep roots in the Icelandic jazz scene.
