Gosse De Banlieue

Gosse de Banlieue, released in 1990 under the Ariola label, is a notable example of late-eighties and early-nineties French popular music production. Régis Leroy, an artist working within the chanson and pop traditions of the era, sought to capture the atmosphere of suburban life in France through his songwriting. The track reflects the production aesthetics common to the Ariola catalog during this period, blending melodic pop sensibilities with themes of social observation typical of the French domestic market.

The creative direction for the release focused on accessibility, aiming to secure airplay through radio-friendly arrangements that were hallmarks of major-label pop output. While the record serves as a stylistic snapshot of the French music scene in 1990, it remains a specialized piece of regional discography. Its reception was largely centered within the Francophone market, where it was appreciated by listeners of contemporary pop and chanson, serving as a minor but authentic entry in Leroy's broader body of recorded work.
