Im Sterne Z'Schattdorf / Zum Gmüetlich Sy

Released under the Tell Record label, this 7-inch single captures a quintessential slice of Swiss Ländler music during the mid-20th century. This genre, characterized by the prominent use of the diatonic accordion or Schwyzerörgeli, served as a primary form of cultural expression and social entertainment in Alpine regions, preserving traditional melodic structures while fostering a sense of local identity and communal spirit.

The recording features the collaboration between Fredy Zwimpfer and René Wicky, two figures within the regional folk music scene. Their performance style reflects the technical demands of the Handorgelduett tradition, where the interplay between two accordions creates a dense, rhythmic, and melodic texture intended for social dance environments. Like many releases from the Tell Record catalog, this item was produced primarily for a niche audience of enthusiasts dedicated to preserving Swiss folk heritage.
