Kruispunt Vrij ! / Met Z'n Zessen !

Released in 1967 on the Telstar label, this single highlights the prolific career of Johnny Hoes, a central figure in the Dutch folk and light entertainment industry. Hoes established Telstar Records in the early 1960s, creating a vital platform for regional Dutch music that major labels often overlooked. This specific release features his backing group, De Zwarte Zes, reflecting the era's tendency toward collaborative, light-hearted pop and folk-infused tracks designed for social gatherings and radio play.

The composition adheres to the accessible, sing-along style that characterized Hoes's work throughout the decade. As an artist and producer, Hoes was known for his intuitive understanding of the Dutch public's taste, often blending traditional melodies with contemporary arrangements. While not considered a chart-topping revolution, this record serves as an example of the independent production ethos that sustained the Dutch music scene during the mid-sixties, capturing the collaborative spirit of the time.
