Where it came from
Libro de Láminas is a promotional release by the British soul-pop band Simply Red, issued by Elektra Records in 1985. Emerging during the band's breakout year, this item was produced to support their debut studio album, Picture Book. It served as a sophisticated marketing tool designed to introduce the group's distinct fusion of blue-eyed soul and jazz-inflected pop to international markets.
The item reflects the aesthetic sensibilities of the mid-1980s, prioritizing a minimalist, artistic presentation consistent with the band's visual identity curated by frontman Mick Hucknall. While it was primarily intended for radio programmers and music journalists to pique interest in the band's burgeoning discography, it has since become a sought-after rarity for completists tracking the group's early creative trajectory and promotional history.
