Lieder Meiner Heimat

Released under the Bertelsmann Schallplattenring imprint, this record reflects the mid-century German tradition of curating folk and heritage music for private subscribers. The collection served as a bridge between high-art choral performance and the preserved musical identity of the German-speaking regions, utilizing the refined voices of the Wiltener Sängerknaben and the Singgemeinschaft Rudolf Lamy to present these traditional pieces with significant technical polish.

The arrangement of the album leans into the pastoral and nostalgic aesthetic popular in 1960s and 70s cultural programming, intended to evoke a sense of Heimat through carefully orchestrated song cycles. While Konstantin Wecker would later become renowned for his politically charged protest songs and singer-songwriter work, this project illustrates his early engagement with collaborative ensemble pieces, showcasing a different facet of his vocal and interpretative range before he shifted toward his more signature individualistic style.
