Lieder Von Wilhelm Weismann Und Rudolf Wagner-Régeny

This release, featuring the vocal interpretations of baritone Siegfried Lorenz accompanied by Herbert Kaliga, serves as a specialized archival document of East German chamber music. Produced in 1984, the record highlights the compositions of Wilhelm Weismann and Rudolf Wagner-Régeny, two figures whose work occupies a significant place in the mid-twentieth-century German vocal repertoire. The recording acts as a tribute to these composers, capturing the restrained, intellectual lyrical style that characterized much of the concert music cultivated in the German Democratic Republic during the late socialist era.

The album was released under a private or limited pressing designation, indicated by the 'Not On Label' status and the specific ETERNA-style numbering system, 8 85 219. This suggests the project was likely intended for scholarly distribution, archival purposes, or institutional appreciation rather than mass commercial retail. The design reflects the minimalist aesthetic common to state-sanctioned classical releases of the period, prioritizing the clarity of the musical scores and the integrity of the vocal performance over elaborate marketing imagery.
