Where it came from
The 1986 record Nils Holgersson, released by the label Tmb under catalog number TMB 1088, emerged during a period of sustained interest in Swedish adaptations of Selma Lagerlöf’s classic literary character. This specific production by Trivs Me' Brogrens reflects the regional Scandinavian tradition of musical storytelling, aimed at younger audiences who were familiar with the various television and literary iterations of the young boy’s journey across Sweden.
The design and production were rooted in the specific aesthetic sensibilities of the Tmb label, which focused on localized folk and narrative releases. While the recording remains a niche entry in the discography of adaptations, it represents a collaborative effort to distill the sprawling epic of the Nils Holgersson narrative into a compact, accessible audio format. It is regarded by collectors as a distinct archival piece of Swedish children’s media from the mid-eighties.
