Sabato Domenica

Released in 1970 on the Odeon label under catalog number 3C 006-17312, Sabato Domenica serves as a notable entry in the discography of Italian singer Marta Lami. The record emerged during a period when the Italian pop music industry was heavily influenced by the structured traditions of the Sanremo era, yet it was beginning to incorporate more contemporary arrangements and production techniques intended to capture a broader audience.

The design and production were overseen by the creative teams at Odeon, who aimed to present Lami as a sophisticated performer capable of bridging traditional vocal pop and the evolving sounds of the early 1970s. While Lami is often remembered as a niche figure within the broader scope of Italian mid-century popular music, the release reflects the characteristic aesthetic of Odeon's label identity at the time, prioritizing polished orchestral backing and sentimental lyrical themes that were well-received by radio audiences throughout Italy.
