Sei Ein Mann / Melancholie / Lady Sunshine Und Mister Moon / Die Liebe Ist Ein Buch Mit Sieben Siegeln

Released in 1962 by the East German state-owned label AMIGA, this 7-inch EP served as a collection of popular vocal music curated for the socialist republic's record-buying public. During this era, AMIGA played a central role in the GDR's cultural policy, balancing the promotion of domestic Schlager artists with the regulated distribution of light music that mirrored trends in Western pop without overtly violating state ideological standards.

The disc features tracks by various artists performing quintessential European pop arrangements of the early 1960s. Design-wise, the sleeve adheres to the minimalist, functionalist aesthetic typical of AMIGA's early catalogue, prioritizing clarity and affordability. These EPs were designed to be accessible to a wide audience, providing a brief, curated selection of melodic hits that reflected the era's taste for sentimental ballads and lighthearted musical storytelling.
