Spojrzenie, Pokolenie, Przypowieść / Ty Jesteś Moje Imię..., Noc, Których Nam Nikt Nie Wynagrodzi..., Miserere, Oddycha Miasto Ciemne...

This 1989 release from the Polish label Tonpress, catalog number N-71, serves as a significant audio archive featuring the poetry of Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński. Baczyński was a prominent voice of the Generation of Columbuses, a group of Polish poets whose lives and works were profoundly shaped by their involvement in the resistance during the Second World War. The record presents a selection of his evocative, tragic verses, capturing the atmosphere of wartime Warsaw and the existential weight of a generation facing certain death.

The production sought to preserve the legacy of Baczyński, whose work remains a cornerstone of Polish literature and historical consciousness. By pairing these verses with audio recording, Tonpress aimed to make the poet’s complex, symbolist language accessible to a contemporary audience. The record is noted for its sober and respectful presentation, fitting for the somber themes of his poetry, and it has since become a sought-after artifact for those interested in the intersections of mid-century Polish history, literature, and the broader cultural output of the Tonpress label.
