Provenance

Where it came from

Released in 1983 by the publishing house J.B. Metzler, this record served as a supplementary audio component for the school textbook series Musik um uns. These recordings were designed to provide pedagogical examples for students, featuring performances by students from various academic institutions in Baden-Württemberg, including the Staatl. Aufbau-Gymnasium and the Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium.

The production sought to bridge traditional music education with practical, audible examples, utilizing local secondary school choirs to bring the textbook's curriculum to life. The project reflects the West German educational approach of the era, which prioritized active participation in choral music and the integration of multimedia materials into the classroom setting. As a specialized educational tool, it remains a historical document of regional pedagogical practices in early 1980s West Germany.
