Provenance

Where it came from

Released in 1976 by the Romanian state label Electrecord, this recording was designed as an educational tool for students in the fifth through eighth grades. It reflects the period's emphasis on linguistic curriculum, specifically targeting the study of the Russian language within the Romanian educational system. The catalog number C.S. 0104 suggests its classification within a broader series of instructional or youth-oriented cultural materials produced by Electrecord during the era.

The album features performances by the children's choir of the Pedagogical High School in Bucharest, led by soloists Petre Țipordei and Doina Ioan. The production aimed to provide students with authentic-sounding vocal examples of Russian folk and choral repertoire, serving as both a musical enrichment and a pronunciation aid. As a functional educational object, it received little critical review outside of school boards and pedagogical journals, remaining a quiet testament to the pedagogical methods of the time.
