Valses De La Viuda Alegre / Bellezas De Viena / Vida en Viena / Vals Del Emperador

The ERA-90 extended play record features Sigmund Romberg and His Orchestra performing a selection of iconic waltzes, including works by Johann Strauss II and Franz Lehár. Released by RCA Victor on their prestigious Sello Rojo (Red Seal) label, this collection was part of the label's mid-century initiative to repackage and distribute lighter classical and salon music in the convenient 45 RPM format, which gained popularity during the 1950s for its portability and high fidelity.

Sigmund Romberg, a composer and conductor celebrated for his operettas, brought a lush, cinematic sensibility to these arrangements. The production sought to capture the elegance of turn-of-the-century Vienna for a post-war American audience that was increasingly seeking sophisticated, melodic orchestral music for home listening. As a budget-friendly and accessible release under the Red Seal banner, it functioned as an entry point for listeners to experience standard orchestral repertoire polished with Romberg's characteristic flair.
