Where it came from
Released in 1987 under the Som Livre label, Xegundo Xou da Xuxa served as the second studio album by Brazilian entertainer Xuxa Meneghel. This project emerged during the height of her popularity as a television host, capitalizing on the massive success of her daily program, Xou da Xuxa. The album was designed to capture the playful, energetic spirit of her television broadcasts, featuring a mix of upbeat pop songs and children's music that solidified her status as a cultural icon in Brazil throughout the late 1980s.
The production sought to maintain the accessible, anthemic sound that resonated with millions of young listeners. Musically, the record relied on synthesized arrangements typical of the era's Brazilian pop scene, curated by the label to align with the vibrant aesthetic of the Xuxa brand. Upon its release, it was met with significant commercial success, contributing to the broader phenomenon of Xuxa's music career, which became a staple of domestic record collections for families across the country during that period.
