Where it came from
Released in 2004 on the Polish independent label Trująca Fala, XII-XX serves as a representative artifact of the mid-2000s Polish underground experimental and industrial scene. The label, founded by Sławomir 'Mały' Ciesielski, was instrumental in documenting the output of abrasive, non-mainstream artists throughout the nineties and early two-thousands, often utilizing minimal packaging and direct, stark aesthetics that prioritized the integrity of the sonic experience over commercial presentation.
The project Evil, an alias utilized within this specific noise and industrial context, approached the creation of this record with a focus on bleak, atmospheric composition. The design reflects the label's commitment to the DIY ethic prevalent in the European noise circuit, where physical releases often acted as limited-run documentation of performance art or studio experimentation rather than mass-market products. It remains a documented entry in the catalog of Trująca Fala, reflecting the label's role in archiving obscure avant-garde sounds.
