Yo-Yo (Ten Years Ago)

Yo-Yo's 1990 single Ten Years Ago, released under the ZYX Records label, emerged during the height of the Italo disco and Eurobeat transition period. As an artist associated with the vibrant but commercially niche European dance music scene, Plaza contributed to a lineage of high-energy electronic pop that prioritized driving synth lines and accessible, melodic hooks designed for the continent's club circuit.

The production of the record reflects the characteristic sound of late eighties and early nineties ZYX releases, which often sought to capture the polished, rhythmic precision of the era's dance-floor aesthetic. While the single was intended to capitalize on the prevailing appetite for synthesized vocal tracks, it remains a documented relic of the specific sound palette cultivated by the label's curators, serving as a functional piece of dance music history rather than a record that significantly altered the trajectory of the pop landscape.
