Yo-Yo (Ten Years Ago)

Yo-Yo (Ten Years Ago) was released in 1990 by the Italian artist Plaza under the ZYX Records label. This track emerged during the height of the Italo-dance and Euro-disco transition, a period when European labels like ZYX were instrumental in distributing high-energy, synthesizer-heavy dance music to clubs across the continent. The record features the driving percussion and melodic hooks characteristic of the late eighties and early nineties club scene.

The production style is consistent with the prolific output of the label, which often prioritized accessible, rhythmic arrangements designed for nightlife spaces. As a twelve-inch single, it was marketed specifically for DJs, featuring extended mixes intended for seamless integration into club sets. While it remains a niche piece within the vast library of ZYX catalog numbers, it reflects the era's focus on bridging pop sensibilities with electronic dance floor functionality.
