Yo-Yo (Ten Years Ago)

Released in 1990 under the Spitfire Music label, Yo-Yo (Ten Years Ago) by Plaza represents a distinct entry in the experimental and electronic music landscapes of the early nineties. The track emerged during a period where independent labels were increasingly willing to experiment with unconventional production techniques, distancing themselves from the more polished pop sounds dominating the mainstream charts at the time.

The design and aesthetic of the release, cataloged as SPX-118, reflect the minimalist graphic sensibilities common among independent electronic imprints of that era. Plaza sought to evoke a sense of nostalgic introspection through the record's title and sonic texture, aiming to capture the passage of time. While it remains a niche release, it is regarded by enthusiasts of the period for its atmospheric quality and the lo-fi production standards that define its character.
