Yo-Yo (Ten Years Ago)

Released in 1990 under the Baby Records label, Yo-Yo (Ten Years Ago) by the artist Plaza is a characteristic artifact of the Italo-disco and synth-pop transition period. The track emerged during a time when Italian producers were refining their signature blend of electronic dance beats and melodic pop structures, seeking to maintain the genre's international appeal as global musical tastes shifted toward newer house and techno influences.

The production behind this release reflects the era's focus on high-fidelity studio synthesizers and drum machines, intended for both club play and radio airplay. Plaza, like many artists signed to labels like Baby Records at the time, worked within a collaborative framework where producers and songwriters aimed for a polished, accessible sound. While it remains a niche entry in the extensive catalog of the label, it stands as a preserved example of the aesthetic and production standards typical of late 1980s and early 1990s European dance music.
