Where it came from
Yo-Yo (Ten Years Ago) (Summer Remix) was released in 1990 under the Disques Déesse label. This track emerged during a period when the French label was active in distributing various pop and dance-oriented recordings, often catering to the European club and radio markets that favored light, upbeat synth-pop production.
The release serves as a snapshot of the late 1980s and early 1990s remix culture, where producers would take existing tracks and rework them to fit the contemporary sound of the time. While Plaza remains a relatively niche artist in the global music landscape, this specific remix highlights the era's focus on recontextualizing dance melodies for a broader audience.
