Ancient Gear Factory

Ancient Gear Factory was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the Cybernetic Revolution expansion in 2005. It was designed as a support card for the Ancient Gear archetype, a deck theme focused on heavy-hitting mechanical monsters that prevent opponents from activating spells or traps during their attacks. The card's ability to trade Ancient Gear cards from the hand for a specific monster reflects the industrial, manufacturing aesthetic established by lead designers at Konami to represent an assembly line of war machines.

The card was reprinted in Dark Revelation Volume 4 in 2007, a compilation set intended to make previously released cards from earlier expansions more accessible to the broader player base. As a common rarity card, it served as a utility piece rather than a centerpiece, valued primarily by players looking to build consistent Ancient Gear decks. It is noted for its utilitarian art style, which captures the rigid, gear-driven world-building that characterizes the early machine-type archetypes of the game.
