Ancient Gear Factory

The Ancient Gear Factory spell card was released in 2007 as part of the Structure Deck: Machine Re-Volt, a pre-constructed Yu-Gi-Oh! set built around the Ancient Gear archetype. This set was designed to support the mechanical themes established in the GX era of the franchise, focusing on powerful machine-type monsters that punished opponents for activating spells or traps during combat. The card was created to provide a specialized resource management tool, allowing players to banish Ancient Gear monsters from their graveyard to facilitate the summon of higher-level machines.

The visual design of the card leans into the industrial, clockwork aesthetic that defines the Ancient Gear series, which draws heavy inspiration from steampunk imagery and retro-futuristic machinery. As a common rarity card, it was produced as a foundational element of the Structure Deck, intended to make the deck's complex summoning mechanics more accessible to casual players and local competitive circles. Its reception was largely centered on its utility within a specific archetype, as it functioned as a vital engine piece for players looking to cycle their graveyard effectively.
