Banner of Courage

The Banner of Courage was released as part of Battle Pack 3: Monster League, a set launched by Konami in 2014 designed specifically for sealed play. This pack was unique in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game because it removed the restriction of using only specific monster types, allowing players to build decks from a massive, curated pool of cards regardless of their original archetypes. The design of the set focused on shifting the tactical landscape to prioritize monster-based combat and board presence rather than complex card combinations.

As a common spell card within this set, the Banner of Courage was intended to function as a simple, evergreen buff for players engaged in the Battle Pack's draft-style format. Its effect, which grants all face-up monsters a 200 ATK boost during the player's turn, reflects the set's goal of encouraging aggressive gameplay. The card maintains the franchise's traditional high-fantasy aesthetic, providing a functional utility that emphasizes the back-and-forth momentum characteristic of the Battle Pack 3 design philosophy.
