Bottomless Trap Hole

Bottomless Trap Hole was introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in 2003 as part of the Legacy of Darkness booster set. This set was pivotal in expanding the game's competitive landscape by introducing powerful trap cards that offered players more control over the field. The card was designed to counter high-attack monsters by removing them from play immediately upon their summon, a mechanic that shifted the strategic focus toward cautious monster placement.

The card's design features the signature aesthetic of early-era Yu-Gi-Oh! card art, emphasizing dark, foreboding imagery that matches its destructive effect. Konami’s design team intended for the card to act as a definitive deterrent against aggressive playstyles. Upon its release, it was well-received by the player base for its simplicity and efficiency, eventually becoming a staple card that remained relevant in various competitive formats for many years.
