Card Trooper

Card Trooper first appeared in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Dark Legends booster set, which was released as a compilation set gathering iconic cards from various eras. Its inclusion in this set solidified its status as a staple for deck builders who relied on graveyard manipulation and card advantage, as its effect allowed players to send cards from the top of their deck to the graveyard to gain attack power.

The card was designed as a versatile engine piece, featuring an illustration of a mechanical soldier that captures the industrial, machine-type aesthetic common in the game's early-to-mid era. It was highly regarded by competitive players for its ability to fuel graveyard-dependent strategies while providing a defensive buffer upon being destroyed, making it a recurring presence in tournament-level decks for several years.
