Card Trooper

Card Trooper first debuted in the 2007 Tactical Evolution booster set as a Rare, quickly becoming a staple in competitive Yu-Gi-Oh! due to its unique synergy with graveyard-focused decks. Its design features a whimsical, militarized automaton with a revolving gatling gun, reflecting the lighthearted yet strategic aesthetic typical of the game's machine-type monsters from that era. The creature was intentionally engineered to provide players with both card advantage and deck-thinning capabilities, making it a pivotal card in the 'Lightsworn' and 'Plant Synchro' archetypes during the late 2000s.

The Hidden Arsenal: Chapter 1 version, designated as HAC1-EN016, represents a modern reprint of this classic card, featuring the distinct Ultra Rare foiling that highlights the monster's metallic details. These chapter sets were designed to provide collectors and players with accessible versions of historically significant cards from the Hidden Arsenal series, which originally brought the Duel Terminal-exclusive archetypes to the Western market. As an Ultra Rare printing, this iteration is prized for its crisp, updated aesthetic while retaining the original functionality that cemented Card Trooper's place in the history of the card game.
