Fairy's Hand Mirror

Fairy's Hand Mirror was released in the 2002 Spell Ruler expansion, which served as the third core booster set for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. Introduced during the game's early growth period in North America, this card was designed to function as a defensive trap, allowing players to redirect an opponent's spell card that targeted one of their monsters. The mechanics reflected the set's focus on diversifying spell and trap interactions, moving beyond simple combat into more strategic, reactive gameplay.

The card features artwork consistent with the aesthetic of early Konami sets, utilizing a whimsical, fantasy-driven visual style that characterized many of the initial trap cards. While it did not reach the competitive prominence of other Spell Ruler staples like Change of Heart or Mystical Space Typhoon, it remains a nostalgic piece of the set's common rarity tier. Its design remains representative of the early Yugi-era card pool, where direct interaction with an opponent's specific target spells was a core, albeit niche, defensive technique.
