Fairy's Hand Mirror

Fairy's Hand Mirror was released in the 2002 Magic Ruler expansion, which served as the third major set for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in North America. Following the release of Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon and Metal Raiders, Magic Ruler introduced a significant influx of new mechanics and archetypes, solidifying the game's early strategic landscape. As a common rarity trap card, it was designed to provide players with an accessible tactical option for redirecting targeting effects.

The card's design reflects the early aesthetic sensibilities of the Yu-Gi-Oh! art direction, which frequently leaned into mythological and whimsical motifs. While the specific illustrator for this card remains largely uncredited in public archives due to the collaborative nature of the production process, the artwork was intended to visually represent the concept of magical deflection. It was received by the player base as a niche but functional card, often utilized in side decks to counter specific targeted spells or abilities.
